We are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results to join our very strong performance at A Level this year. We are absolutely delighted with our outstanding GCSE results . Despite much uncertainty across the country about the new reformed GCSEs in English and Maths, and all exams continuing to be more demanding; Springwest students excelled once again! We exceeded our target for the percentage of students achieving the new good pass benchmark (5+ equivalent to the old C/B) in English and Maths with 43% of students gaining a Grade 5 or above in both subjects. 64% of students achieved 4+ (equivalent to the old C) in both English and Maths. Progress in English Literature was outstanding with 84% of all students achieving a Grade 4 or above. Progress in Maths was also very strong with 65% scoring a 4+ or better.
A number of students performed superbly across all their GCSEs and we would particularly like to congratulate Sandra Bali, Beverley Gomes, Petru Mihai, Yujan Rai, Julia Ruminska and Ida Thomas on their phenomenal achievements. They all achieved Grade A*s, As and 9s! Ida was one of only 2,000 students across the country to achieve three level 9s. We are thrilled that nearly all of these students are coming to join the Tudor Park Sixth Form in September.
Springwest staff and students have worked very hard to ensure a rigorous focus on the demands of the new GCSEs and their endeavours have paid off. Many congratulations to all our Y11 and their families
