On Thursday 13th October Springwest Academy attended the Teach First Partnership Awards at their Head Office in Greenwich. The event was set up to celebrate and reward those schools that have been working together with Teach First for over 10 years.
Speakers at the event noted the substantial progress that has been made in London schools over the past 15 years. This has seen London move from being the lowest to the highest performing region in terms of education success. Teaching in London is now regarded as one of the most prestigious career choices for top graduates leaving university.
We have always been a proud supporter of Teach First as we share the core belief that no child’s success in life will be limited by how much their parents earn. As such we have helped to train scores of teacher during our time working in partnership with Teach First many of whom have gone on to take key leadership roles within the school and are helping us to ensure every child is given the very best education we can provide along with the wider life skills that will support their future success.
